If we get depressed, we search for the things that may elevate our mood level. Frequently we opt for the erroneous things, alcohol, drugs etc. Most of these alternatives make us feel even more depressed. It is essential to be concerned about ourselves when everything is not right for us and of course there is nothing wrong doing such things which can make us healthy and can elevate the state of the mind.

Instead of reaching for the wrong habits, why don’t we try some exercise? Be it a little bit of gardening or taking the pet we have for a walk or simply dusting our place once again? You can name each of the activities you liked since passing the basic schooling. Rhythmic exercises like jogging, walking, cycling are definitely healing exercise as our body gets involved into its own pace. You are free to analyze the problems you are facing daily. It is easy to find some solutions at this stage either.

You can try the following exercises to improve the level of mental health. Planning properly- do not be panicky. Plan your schedule well in advance. Regular activity for a mere 30 minutes can change the whole scenario and elevate your mood. See, the thought of doing exercise to get some relief from stress will make you happy and you will feel more comfortable.

Make it easy- do not go for the workout that requires heavy equipments. Make it simple. You can try some brisk walking, gardening, dusting your house or some simple aerobic exercises. Get some help- there is no shame asking for some support from a good friend.

Do not go for the complex exercises initially when you are planning some exercises for the first time. It is hard to be athletic right from the beginning when you are maintaining a sedentary lifestyle.Proper warm up and cooling down is a must for all the exercises. Always follow that. Warm up is necessary because the muscles involved remain in a state of static inertia.

If you try hard right from the beginning, the muscle will not contract properly and the benefit of exercise will not be evident. The hormones released during the exercises helps to reduce stress thus elevating our mood.
